200 times yearly ( from a survey on 50 years old people by Duke University ). It’s gonna make you six years younger. Here’s why:
– it proves that the body system is doing well,
– and the man’s health proves to be in healthy condition.

WHAT IS THE BEST CURE FOR A JELLYFISH STING?

Vinegar ( urine also can cure it, but it must be acid enough ).
After giving the vinegar, shape the site that got sting, so the hook will come off. Then wash the wounds with salt water.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO REMOVE A TICK?

Pluck it. DO NOT TWIST IT. If the head still remains, don’t worry, your body will push it away by itself.

WHY DO SOME PEOPLE ATTRACT MOSQUITOES MORE THAN OTHERS?

– The most important is because of the genetics.
– Your diet (some food attract mosquitoes).
– Mosquitoes hate hair. So, people with less hair on their body attract mosquitoes more than people with more hair on their body.

The solution is : use some perfume, deodorant, or lotion. Because mosquitoes hate scents.

WHAT CAUSES BRAIN FREEZE?

The dilation of arteries.
The ice cream stimulates the back of your mouth and artery spasm. After that, the arteries get big and deliver lots of blood to your brain at once, which gives you the pain in your head.

To avoid brain freeze, you must take your tongue and hold it on top of your mouth ( do this in between bites ).

INFORMATION ABOUT SPLEEN AND PANCREAS

Spleen is located at the top left of your stomach. It’s where the body keeps the stock of your blood. It’ll bleed a lot if you got hurt on it.

Pancreas is located at the top right of your stomach. If you feel pain on this area, you should check to the doctor. Because it’s dangerous.

RETURNED from hibernation! ^o^~

My thesis examination turned out to be very unexpectedly wonderful ^^ It’s not perfect, but I’m very happy with the result.. It feels so good when you already have the result of your EXTRA HARD WORK which have taken almost one and a half year to finish it! πŸ˜€

Though the excitement after having the result didn’t last very long, since my friends on the same group of examination got what they didn’t expect for all the hard works they’ve been putting on their thesises.

Gosh.. The happy feeling just sucked up in a heart beat after I heard their results 😦

Anyway… After some more revision in here and there, printing, took some signatures, and finally handed in the book to the Student Service Centre..Β  We’re now proudly holding the B.A title behind each of our names! πŸ˜‰

OK, I’m back to share another health information from Dr.OZ’s HEALTH QUIZ! There’ll be no options given, I’ll just give you the answers right after the questions :p

HOW MANY FIBER DO WE NEED?

25 gr of fibers per day for three meals. It brings down your blood pressure and cholesterol. Food that contains lots of fibers are peer, soya beans, and wheat paste.

One important thing to remember is that when you give your body more fibers, you also need more water (if not, you got slow).

WHICH CONDITION SHOWS THAT YOU HAVE ENOUGH WATER?

When your urine is clear enough to see through. It means that it doesn’t highly concentrate.

People always being told to drink at least eight glasses of water each day. However, it really doesn’t need to be like that. Each person has different needs of water’s amount, since they have different life styles. The greatest hint is : you only need more water when you feel dry inside your mouth. If you don’t feel dry inside your mouth anymore, you already have enough water for your body.

WHAT IS THE MOST DANGEROUS FAT IN YOUR BODY?

The fat in your belly.

For men, there is a good news about this : for every 35 pons decrease on your belly’s fat, you’ll gain AN INCH penis πŸ˜‰ However, it’ll stop after a while. Keep working out on your stomach, guys! ^.-

WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING STORES FAT?

The OMENTUM ( the upper part of the small intestine, around your belly ). It has a chemical syndrome that stimulates you to eat a lot and will get you a high cholesterol and high blood pressure from obesity– which eventually will cause you a heart failure.

WHAT ARE FLAVANOIDS?

They’re in foods that contain antioxidants ( such as in tea and dark berry).

WHAT IS THE BEST FOOD TO SLOW DOWN YOUR AGING?

Food that contains potassium (banana). Potassium is symbolizes with “K” in chemistry term.

Plus do regular exercise!

WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING IS MOST IMPORTANT (TO KNOW YOUR AGING)?

Blood pressure. High blood pressure shorten ten years of your age.

A healthy blood pressure for adult is approximately 120/80 mmHg (read: one twenty over eighty) with large individual variations. And as stated on the wikipedia, these measures of arterial pressure (blood pressure) are not static, but undergo natural variations from one heartbeat to another and throughout the day (in a circadian rhythm). They also change in response to stress, nutritional factors, drugs, or disease.

ps: If you have a high blood pressure, it makes holes on your arteries. And the body plaster is cholesterol. So, your body still needs a particular amount of cholesterol.

IMPOTENCE MAY BE A SIGN OF…

A heart disease.

It goes like this : the penis needs a gas called “nitrate oxide”, which acts like a viagra. The gas is also produced at the heart, which makes the arteries dilate. So, when the penis fails to “wake up”, it indicates that there are no nitrate oxide on it. And it may also indicated that there are no nitrate oxide on the heart, which makes the arteries fails to dilate.

WHY I CAN’T POOP WHEN I’M ON A HOLIDAY TRIP ?
The main reason is because we’re feeling insecure when we’re on a place where we don’t really familiar with. Unconsciously, our body react to it and your muscles become intense. You know, when you poop, you need to relax your below muscle (where poop comes out). So, it’s just psychological and it’s normal.

Another cause is that we usually have lack of fiber when we’re on holiday because we eat badly when we’re on holiday trip.

The best solution is : drink water regularly, eat enough vegetables and fruits during your holiday trip.

IS IT OKAY TO HOLD YOUR GAS ?

No, if you do that, you might gas at night on your sleep & it’s dangerous.
We produce half a litre of gas per day, and it’s natural. Gas doesn’t smells, but it’ll smell bad if you hold it too long, because it’ll absorb smell from the food on your stomach. Some food makes your gas smells though, such as eggs and oysters.

Make sure you do it on an airy enough room πŸ˜‰

WHY AM I SWEATING A LOT ?
You need to check your blood pressure. Mainly, it’s because you have a high blood pressure. In case of African American people, they’re genetically inherited the high blood pressure disease. Oprah said, it’s started during the slavery period. Back then, only those that have more salt on their body could survive.

AM I DAMAGING MY EARS BECAUSE OF PLUGGING IN EARPHONE AND LISTENING TO LOUD MUSIC ?

Yes, the best maximum volume is 70%.

As women grow older, they’re more vulnerable to certain diseases such as cholesterol, osteoporosis, cervic cancer, breast cancer, ovarium cancer, obesity, and lots of others. We need to identify it earlier and more important is to prevent it.

Oprah gave us a quick list of important tests women should do on certain ages πŸ˜‰
~ 20th ~

 

  • Blood Pressure : for a risk of high blood pressure.
  • Cholesterol : checking how much your HDL (good fat) and LDL (bad fat). No matter if you’re a skinny or a large women, you have risk of cholesterol.
  • Pelvic Exam
  • Regular Breast Exam
  • Total Skin Check (for every 3 years) : the sun light is getting more damaging to our skin, while women are having more activities. And so they have higher risk of skin cancer. *Never forget to apply your sunblock, ladies!*

~ 35th ~

 

  • Pap Smear
  • Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) : 80% of adult are infected by this virus. This is the kind of virus that make you risk of Cervic Cancer.
  • Thyroid Abnormality : can lead you to obesity, depression, hard to focus, decreasing memory and lots more.

~ 40th ~

  • Glaucoma Test : Glaucoma can make you blind without any early symptoms.

~ 50th ~

  • Colonoscopy : for checking your large intestine.
  • Mammography : to see whether you have a tumor or not. You have to start testing it for every single year.

~ 65th ~

  • Complete Blood Work
  • Urine Analysis
  • Eyesight Test

And last but not least … Every women in every age, have to take a BONE DENSITY TEST. It’s for checking your risk of Osteoporosis. Women are much more vulnerable to this kind of disease than men. It’s suggested to start drinking calcium or highly calcium milks and exercise regularly when you’re 19 years old to prevent the osteoporosis.

Let’s be more aware of these kind of things, ladies…:)

Do you know about Prophylactic Mastectomy ?
It refers to the action of taking your breast tissue away even though you have no breast cancer. But you already diagnosed to have the risk.
When you do it to both of your breasts, it’s called Double Mastectomy.

Most of medical journals has been talking it in a way that make it sounds like it’s a mutilation process (radical, extreme, etc.), though it’s not. They just don’t know how to talk properly with women. Women should know that it’s a best decision for women who has large risks of breast cancer, whom family (including your aunts or even your grandparents) has a history of breast cancer. We have a great plastic surgery, and there are good doctors who are highly skilled and able to leave only a minim of surgery’s scars.

Of course there are risks, since it’s a big operation. It takes around 5 hours, and you must be mentally prepared. However, it’s your breasts to be taken, not just some portion of meat. Still, you have to seriously consider it, talk intensely about the options with your trusted doctor.
Ask yourself : Do you still want to be around your family? Around your husband? Around your children? And have a very nice sleep, instead of having mammography and biopsy tests then nervously waiting for the results …. over and over again?

You can see from the stat that women who hesitate and who are sure of not doing the mastectomy are the major ones. It certainly shows the contradiction. Yet, let’s give a big applause for those who have decided to have the mastectomy. I believe they did it mostly for the sake of their beloved ones. *My biggest respect to my boyfriend’s mother who has successfully had the operation done*

It’s Genetic,Β  So Pay Attention

Pay more attention if you have family members around 40 to 45 years old
that already have/had breast cancer or ovarium cancer. Bottom point is “having young family member who has/had neither breast or ovarium cancer”, making your risk of the cancer even greater.

5 – 10 % of breast cancer are genetically inherited. If you are an Ashkenazi or Eastern European Jewish, you have 2,5 % risk of breast cancer. And if your father or a male family member has/had breast cancer, which is very rarely happened, your risk of breast cancer is up until 40%. But by doing the mastectomy, your risk will drastically down until 2%.

If you recognized one of those previous conditions mentioned above, you should ask for ” Genetic Counseling for Breast Cancer ” to your doctor. They will guide you to a consultant that’ll help you going through your family trees, and if they think it’s necessary, you will be asked to do the Genetic Tests. The tests are usually called as “BRCA1” and “BRCA2” (read: braca one, braca two).

Dr. Marie Savard, the expert doctor invited to the Oprah Show, said that BRCA1 and BRCA2 are also related to the Ovarium Cancer, since the ovarium and breast cancer are related. 80 – 85% of women have risk of breast cancer and 50% risk of ovarium cancer. If you take your ovarium lifted, it’ll decrease 50% of your risk of breast cancer on BRCA1 and BRCA2. But it doesn’t mean that your ovarium cancer (if you have one) is completely gone.

When you talk about cancers, there’ll be lots of controversies emerge. In the end, it’s important to know more information about it and you are the one to decide what’s the best thing to do for yourself.

Another Ask DR.OZ episode, and the questions asked are getting braver since the ‘poop’ episode πŸ˜€ “Its like breaking the whole walls down!”, said Oprah.
I’m totally agree with her πŸ˜€

I want to share some of DR.OZ great knowledge from the show. Though its sounds like ‘ewww!’ sometimes, well almost all the time :p, but it’s definitely very important to know πŸ˜‰

PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR POOP’s CONDITION

1. ‘S’ shape = GOOD HEALTH, enough amount of fibers
2. ‘O’ shape = lack of water
3. Messed up or in liquid shape = you have digestion’s disorder
4. Brown is the colour we wanted
5. The good poop must be sinking, not floating

IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE ALLERGIC OF YOUR SPOUSE’S SPERMS?

Yes, it is possible! Not exactly the sperms, but the protein it carries that can make you allergic after making love with your spouse. The signs of allergic including swollen lips, numbness, redness on your skin, and itch.

The best solution is : use a condom.

This issue could be a big problem for spouses who have problems on trying to have babies.

SMELLY BELLY BUTTON

If it’s an ‘inny’ belly button that produce liquid and smells bad, then it’s a genetic problem.
But if it’s an ‘outty’ belly button, it’s because you had a Hernia when you were a baby.

The solution : go to common doctors to get a cure. Don’t use liquid that you wouldn’t use for your eyes (alcohol, for example) to clean up your belly button. When you use an alcohol, it kills 50 bacteria, but it also kills 5 millions of your protection cells (good cells). So instead of using alcohol, you should use SALT WATER. Our tissue, our cells, they like salt water. Same thing, when you were hurt, you should use salt water instead of alcohol to clean the wound.

SMELLY FEET

Our body produces one litre of sweat every day. Sweat is a good thing because it’s carrying waste out of our body. It’s not suppose to be smelly, though. Smelly feet is because the sweat on your feet is infected by the fungi.
The sign of fungi is white cracked lines or spots on your foot.
You also probably have an ‘athlete foot’, a kind of fungi which is usually grows between your toes.

The solution : make a bucket of iced tea, make it warm a bit, then put your feet into the bucket for half an hour. Do it for a week. Your feet will get brown because of the tea’s chemical effect. But it will get dried soon and peeled off.
