This motorcycle was mentioned at my strategic management class today. I’m quite curious about it because it is said to be a motorcycle with a dashboard lots of fantastic features -just like a car. It’s already known worldwide, but I’ve never heard anything about it until today ^^;
And I found this HANDSOME ride 😉
2008 Honda Goldwing Airbag
It’s only natural that a revolutionary machine such as the Gold Wing should never rest on its laurels, striving instead to redefine its class at every opportunity. The Gold Wing set yet another industry benchmark by introducing production motorcycling’s first-ever Airbag System. Proof once again that when it comes to touring, the Gold Wing stands alone at the top.
This, is the famous dashboard that has a navigator on it :
Gold Wing is all about exploring new places, and our new Navigation option makes that easier than ever. This new proprietary Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ uses proven GPS technology in a fully integrated system that lets you view maps on a color LCD screen, and even follow step-by-step verbal directions via your Gold Wing’s sound system. A 2GB Compact Flash (CF) card stores all the information you’ll need to travel just about anywhere in the U.S. and Canada. Feature-rich and packed with options, it’s simply the best GPS-based navigation system on a motorcycle today.
And still more, it also has audio system! 😀
The Gold Wing has always set the standard for onboard motorcycle audio systems ever since it revolutionized the touring category with its first integrated stereo in 1982. This year, however, is truly special thanks to our all-new Premium Audio package, which adds rear speakers as well as a pair of front tweeters, a new tuner, and an external 80-watt/channel power amplifier to our already state-of-the-art system. You’ll be rewarded with clear sound at all speeds and yes, there’s still the auxiliary port in the fairing, as well as the option of adding a trunk-mounted six-disc CD changer.
The pricing is different for each colour since higher prices may apply for certain color schemes and premium paints, but these prices are Honda-suggested retail prices :
Black : $24,349
Titanium : $24,649
Pearl White : $24,649
Metallic Red : $24,649
Dark Red Metallic : $24,649
Oh dear, two thumbs up for Honda!:D
All information are available on Honda motorcycle’s official site
I’ve owned a Honda Goldwing for about six months and it truly is a leap forward in many regards. While other motorcycles may have one or two features which are really good; Honda has managed to put together a world class package in one motorcycle. It is comfortable to ride, powerful and yet manages to still be nimble, a combination that has kept me on the road more often than I care to admit. The added features, such as an on-board navigation system, the built-in airbag, superior luggage space, heated seats and grips (for these snowy days) and the ABS brakes are features that make this bike a joy to ride.
Hmmm…. so it REALLY is a very distinctively great motorcycle! 🙂
What colour do you have?
can you please inform me what is the code number for pearl white color for Honda Goldwing
Hi rennos 🙂
I’m afraid I didn’t know the code number for pearl white colour. I also couldn’t find it even though I have searched for it on the Honda’s motorcycle official site. However, I find this instead :
FAQ : How can I identify the model and year of my Honda?
One of the best ways to identify thousands of different models of Honda Motorcycles, ATVs and Scooters is to use American Honda’s Motorcycle Identification Guide. This 524-page soft-cover book has photos, model years, color listings, selected technical information and Vehicle Identification Number ranges for every Honda Motorcycle, Scooter, Moped, ATC, FL and ATV sold in the United States by American Honda from 1959 through 2000. This comprehensive book, Part Number 2GMAS00AH, is available through your Honda Dealer at a suggested retail price of $28.95 or can be ordered from Helm Inc. at (888) 292-5393 or their Web site: http://www.helminc.com.
Maybe the book could help you to find out the code number for Pearl White color of Honda Goldwing 2008.
Alternatively, I suggest you to ask nearest dealer of Honda Goldwing in your area.
Meila, on May 8th I bought a dark red 2008 prem. audio model, no fancy stuff of the top line ones have. On May 14th, I stopped and the car behind me did not. Yes, rearended with only 450 miles on the bike. I was able to keep it upright, and just a bang to my left shin. The car that hit me was a ’94 Honda. I was able to drive it away from the scene, and after frustrating time with the insurance company of the car that hit my bike and the motorcycle shop in repair time, it is now back to 100%. I believe if I was on most any other bike, I would of had suffered some injuries and far more damage to the cycle. Goldwing in my mind is one of the safest motorcycles out there, but I am going to put more lights on it above what they come with. Enjoy yours if you got one. Doug.
Do the bikes handle IPod connections? If so are they standard or is it some type of upgrade?
Hi Guys,
the paint number can be found on a sticker inside the fuel door.
my gw has a ipod connection inside the left dash pocket. it is hooked to the aux function of the radio.
I have 33,000 miles on my white 2005 GoldWing. Much of this pulling a trailer. The Gold Wing Road Riders Association is an international group that promotes riding, fun, and safety and I am a local chapter Director in Oklahoma. The International Rally for GWRRA is in Tulsa Julk, 2009 (9,000 GoldWings are expected to attend)
The GoldWing really has all the creature comforts for long distance riding. My favorite features are the cruise control (for that tired wrist) and the MP3 player/iPod plugin. The bike handles like a dream and has the power and torque to handle any road or almost any situation.
Probably the best support for the GoldWing comes from the wives (or co-riders). It absolutely has the most comfortable pasenger seat of any road bike. With the addition of optional armrests, rear speakers, and helmet intercom set (the bike is already wired), the pasenger can relax and enjoy the scenery with music, CB radio updates, and color commentary from the driver. On long rides, my wife even takes naps back there.
We often ride in groups of 5 to 10 bikes and keep in touch with the CB radios. The key conversation is usually “Where are we going to stop to eat?”
hi would likt to know what does s stands for in the dashboard indication
Hey there would you mind letting me know which webhost you’re utilizing? I’ve loaded your blog in 3 different web browsers and
I must say this blog loads a lot faster then most. Can you suggest
a good hosting provider at a honest price? Many thanks, I appreciate it!
Hi, I registered at WordPress.com and publish my blog using it. I hope it’s useful 🙂
Second, see if it’s a problem you can’t fix or still don’t know what’s
wrong with the unit turned on inside your bedroom. Before you go regarding scouring shops for sliding window air conditioners, first decide what kind of air conditioner,
you will get to the coils.
I need to to thank you for this wonderful read!!
I definitely enjoyed every bit of it. I have you book marked
